Review: Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer

I'm aware I'm late to the party with this one; I did take the photos for this post when I first started this blog but I never got around to writing it. My bad!

Whenever I've worn lip colour for the past 3 months, I've used the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer, (here) £6.49. After seeing Fleur De Force and Zoella use them in their videos, I fell in love with the intense colours and claims of long lasting wear.

The first colour I bought was Stellar, which was on promotion at Superdrug, I think for £5.99. I bought it as it matches my Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick (here) in 110. The colour is a coral based red, which is lovely and pigmented.

I then bought Apocaliptic and Big Bang on a 2 for £10 offer at Boots a couple of weeks later as I was so impressed with longevity of the lacquer.

Apocalyptic is a magenta pink which is quite deep in colour. I wear this colour the least as I find it hard to match any of my clothes without looking too much.

Big Bang is a statement scarlet colour, which I tend to wear with plain outfits to balance out the intensity of the colour.

These lacquers go on with a shine and give your lips a slight tint, which leaves a matte colour when it starts to dry in. I like the consistency as it isn't sticky, although application can be tricky as the wand seems to collect colour on the tip, so blotting may be necessary.

Breakdown

Colour 4/5
The colour is highly pigmented and gives an even coverage that is thick without being sticky. As you can see in the photos, the colour stops where my lips start to get wet. I have this issue with lipsticks as well, but it's so much more obvious with these lacquers.

Long lasting 4/5
When the initial layer dries a little it leaves a matte effect that lasts for a good few hours. In do find as time passes they do dry my lips out a little.

Price 4/5
As most of the lipsticks I own cost £10 and over, I don't mind paying £6.49 for a product that lasts just a long with a much more intense colour.

Packaging 4/5
I love the shape of the lid, it's so unique! It stands out and looks appealing. The wand applicator needs a little wipe to stop too much product going on your lips, but that isn't a big issue in my opinion.

Have you tried the Apocalips Lip Lacquers? What colours did you go for? I'd love to try the nude colours, but they seem to wash me out!
