A Little Personal: Beauty Confessions Tag

My camera broke many months ago, so most of my blog photos are taken on my iphone 5. Unfortunately I'm currently waiting for a replacement as mine stopped reading my SIM card randomly 2 weeks ago. So, until I hear whats going on and get my beloved phone/replacement, I've decided to do a tag post, since I haven't told you guys much about myself and I find it hard to do!

The joys of being pale- lighting can turn you into a ghost!

1. How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?
As I currently blog once a week, I find that I spend about 2 hours writing, taking photos and editing my blog. Sometimes I spend longer depending on the post, like last week when it required a lot more research to make sure I was putting in the right information.
2. Are you a spender or a saver?
A bit of both to be honest! I tend not to splash out on things, I prefer to search for bargains and limit what I splash out on. I'm currently trying to save up so I can move out of my parents house so I put money away each month, then buy a few treats to stop me going crazy and spending too much money.
3. When is it easiest for you to write your posts?
I normally write posts on my Nexus tablet when myself and my boyfriend are sitting watching TV in the evenings. Photos I take when I'm home during the day if possible, although as I live in Scotland a lot of the time I end up switching my bedroom light on anyway! I also edit my photos at home as well as my boyfriends laptop hates picmonkey for some unknown reason!
4. What makes writing posts comfortable for you?
I used to be really in to writing when I was younger (I even won a writing competition that comes up when I Google my name!) so I still find it to be a comfort. It's almost a sort of release for me - I get into my own little zone and it makes me happy that it's my own personal space.
5. What’s your worst make up/hair habit?
I have quite a few! Using hairspray to set my make up before a night out is definitely my main one. Also not getting my hair cut often enough, my fringe is always terrible and shapeless!
6. What’s one quote you wish the world would live by?

This is a hard one! I think I'll go for "Live and let Live" as a lot of the worlds problems seem to me like they stem from one person trying to force their views and beliefs onto others. Everyone has their own opinion and in most cases it's not anyone elses business to challenge that.
7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?
Between 30-45 minutes depending how much I've slept in! I wear make up for work so half the time I end up rushing it 10 minutes before I start.
8. What’s your favourite post on your blog?
I don't really have a favourite! I like the posts that take a lot of effort, like my nail polish haul and my how to's. It gives me a sense of achievement to know the work I put in.
9. Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers that they have?
The original two bloggers I took interest in are The Minted Beauty and Beautiful Solutions. The Minted Beauty (Kate) has such down to earth posts which include a mix of genres and the beauty side has plenty of affordable products. I find a lot of bloggers post mostly about high end products, but I'd rather read about cheaper products that are just as good! (Plus, how rad is her blog layout??) Most of my blogging skills came from reading Beautiful Solutions' blog, Stacey makes is really easy to understand and gives so much advice! Again, her posts are so down to earth and makes me feel like she's talking to me as a big sister.
10. What’s one this you’re excited about in the coming year?
Definitely my Academy Of Make Up Pro course! I've never had that much training on make up, in college I was shown how to apply make up and that was about it! Most of my knowledge is from YouTube, so its exciting to have training from make up artists from around the UK. I've met three of the make up artists already and been in awe at their skills, so it will be good to meet the others and get as much knowledge as possible.
11. What’s been your favourite blogging moment?
When I reviewed Ecosse candles I tagged them in a tweet and they actually posted my review on both their twitter and their Facebook, which was really cute! It's nice that a company saw my blog and shared my post and I have a print screen of their Facebook post on my phone to remind me how happy it made me!
12. How long does it take to prep for a post?
I'd say I spend about an hour prepping by planning out the post and taking photos. I have a memo on my phone which I write ideas in and write out a schedule of when I will post each one. I sometimes make a separate memo with reminders and lists of items for whichever post I'm working on.
13. Are you wearing jeans/skirt right now or are you wearing pajama bottoms?
I'm currently wearing 2 pairs of leggings! I buy them from H&M, but they're always see-through enough to see my pants, so i have to double up. To be honest the only reason I'm not in pajamas is because I've put a face mask on before i shower so I haven't gotten changed yet!
14. What are you most proud of in your life?
This is a tough one! I think at the moment its my personal development in the past year. My game plan after my hairdressing course was complete was always to go straight onto HNC Make Up Artistry, so when the course was cancelled I panicked and asked to be put into Beauty. Although I really enjoyed it I still wanted to move on to make up and applied for the HND in Edinburgh, got an interview but never heard back. I was completely at a loss as to what to do and got myself in such a state. One day I happened to search and find The Academy of Make Up, but I couldn't find many reviews so I was scared to invest money into it. After taking the risk I'm so happy I did, I've already attended two day courses and it just feels so right!
I've also developed a lot in my confidence, which I fully have to thank my work for. My manager and assistant managers have been amazing and the trust they put in me has made me realise what I'm capable of, which has helped me in leaps and bounds. I'm not sure how much I can say about my work on here, but the responsibility I'm given makes me feel so proud and so much more confident!
I also went on my first holiday without my parents, bought a car and got over my fear of driving, travelled outside of Aberdeen on my own for the first time and managed to organise going to a festival - and actually got there - pretty much by myself. I never realised how much I doubted myself and shy-ed away from going out of my comfort zone until I looked back, so I'm glad that I seem to be doing a lot of growing up!

Phew, that last one rambled on! Its nice to write something personal about myself, its a bit scary putting it out on the Internet for everyone to see, but hopefully you've all found it at least a little interesting!
