Make Up Storage

Ghost, Hodor and Arya watch over my kit for me.

There are so many topics I love reading on blogs, but make up storage is pretty high up in my favourites. As I recently trained in make-up artistry, my kit has been slowly building up to the point that the set bags I had been keeping them in were getting too full to hold it all. My manager recently sent me a photo of some storage drawers she had seen in Staples (the term "storage porn" comes to mind.) A few days after my mum mentioned she was going to go to Staples, so I sent her the photo and asked her to pick one up for me. At £24.99 it's a little bit pricey in my opinion, but I have no concept of price for storage so maybe i'm wrong!

At first I had everything laid out throughout the drawers, with separate drawers for eyes, lips, face/base, and extras, but I saw white tub sets for £7.99 from lakeland and bought two sets to help group my kit. I'm already considering buying another drawer set quite soon, as even though my kit is small it's starting to overflow in a few drawers!

In the top drawer I still keep all of my base products. The largest tub holds my foundations, but I decant them into 10ml dropper bottles to make it easier and lighter to take with me. In the long thin tub I keep concealers and dropper bottles. The small tubs hold dropper bottles and loose powder. The space around the tubs hold primers and bb cream/tinted moisturises.

The second drawer holds my eyeshadow, blusher and lipstick palettes. I also stacked up eyebrow boxes, blushers contour kits to keep them nice and tidy. The three small boxes have cream blushers and loose pigments tucked into them. This time the long thin tub holds all my eye products; mascara, pencil liners, gel liners and liquid liners.

Most of my lip products are lipsticks, which I melted into a palette. I keep my lip pencils, lip balm, gloss and extra lipsticks in this drawers thin tub. I used another large tub to keep all my tools; tweezers, eyelash curlers, a mirror, mascara wands, a powder puff etc. I also have a pack of individual eyelashes, a pack of cotton buds, hand sanitiser, a spray bottle of water and a bottle of 99% alcohol.

The last drawer is crammed with skincare, with wipes, cleanser, toner and moisturiser. I also have a small back of tissues and a larger of 99% alcohol for cleaning brushes between models at shows.

So there we have it, my storage for my start make up kit! I've only bought the basics and my kit grows every month, so it won't be long before I start buying drawers for each category! Where do you store your make up? All my own products are just shoved in a drawer XD

  2. That is only the basics?! Haha, your collection is amazing. I need to do one of these posts, although I'm rather ashamed mine is not as good as all the posts I see.

Why thank you, as I said my own make up is rammed into one tiny drawer in my wardrobe, I now just "borrow" from my professional kit ;)
