August Favourites

Is it just me or has September brought a sudden influx of Christmas stock to shops? Not that I'm complaining, I will almost definitely be buying the cute little gingerbread men candle holders from Yankee Candle! This months favourites is all about items that make my make up routine that little bit easier, mainly on the brush side of things.

Zoeva E40//MAC 132//Hobbycraft Brush

The three brushes I have added to my daily routine make for a quick and easy application. The first brush is a fluffy blending brush, almost like my beloved MAC 217, but with longer, softer bristles. It's perfect for a light wash of colour all over the lids and for a gentle application of crease colour. It can also be wiped on a tissue and dipped straight into concealer or powder to get right into the under eye area. I got this with my make up course, but a good dupe is linked above. Next, we have my new favourite foundation brush, the MAC 132 Duo Fibre Foundation. It's like most duo fibre brushes, except it has a more traditional foundation brush shape, just slightly smaller. It blends foundation quickly without leaving any lines, so it's a no brainer really! The last brush I've added to my daily routine is actually a paintbrush from Hobbycraft. I use it in my kit for a precise application of gel eyeliner, which I recently got for myself.

Paw Paw Moisturising Balm//Illamasqua ESP

The next item in my monthly favourites was a saviour not just for me, but for my two female friends at Leeds Festival. We all constantly put lip balm on as it is, so Paw Paw's moisturising balm was the perfect intense boost of moisture for the long days in the sun. Ok, so the sun wasn't out that much, but the lip balm still helped! I've also found myself wearing Illamasqua's lipstick in ESP. It's a beautiful deep matte purple, with great lasting power. It's a really velvety texture and the bullet has a really pointed top, making application a lot easier. Although it's matte, it has a slight pearlescent shine to it that I really like.

So there we have it! No doubt next month will have a few Christmassy items sneaking in, so I apologise in advance. What have you been loving this month?

  1. Usually I hate thinking about Christmas before December but I make an exception when it comes to all the gift sets! It's a really good idea to use a paint brush to apply eyeliner, and I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper too? xx
