Update: New Make Up Storage

IKEA Alex Drawers

Back in May posted about my first storage drawers for my make up kit here. It was pretty full already and after a trip to IKEA in July, both my mum and myself were set on the ALEX drawers as a new home for my kit. One of our family friends was buying from IKEA last month, so they kindly ordered the drawers at the same time. Since they are massively bigger than the small set of drawers I had, there is still a lot of room, which is perfect as I'm addicted to buying for my kit! All I need now it more containers/seperaters and LOTS OF PRODUCTS :D

I decided to put the drawers in order of how I would use them. In the first drawer we have skincare and cotton pads. I mainly use aloe as it works for all skin types and won't irritate the skin. Cleansing wipes are great for shows, as they're so quick and easy use to remove any make up that models might have turned up with. I normally have miceller water in my kit as well, but I already decanted it into a travel bottle to save room.

The next drawer is something I want to start to expand on. I don't really feel clued up on primers or BB creams/tinted moisturisers, but they're definitely something I will be researching and purchasing in the future!

Next we have foundations and concealers. I think in a month or so I'll need to switch the foundations to one of the bottom drawers, so that I can stand the bottles up and create more room. I still use 10ml bottles to transport my foundations, as it makes it much easier and saves a tonne of room. As you can see, my favourite Collection 2000 concealer is at the forefront of my kit. I really don't believe that a make up kit has to be full of super expensive products to be good! I mean, isn't it Rimmel that is the number one make up authority in the UK?? (I actually think I heard it's the number one in the world, but I'm not 100% sure.)

The next drawer is another one that I need to research a little more on. I have a small collection of blushers and bronzers, along with a few different textures, but I feel like I could learn more, especially about colours for different skin tones!

My eye drawer probably has the widest variety of products in it. There are a few more products and palettes that I use myself day to day, so this drawer would probably be pretty full if I added them in. I think with the palettes I have almost every kind of eyeshadow you could imagine, but I'm always looking for more!

The last area of the face is of course, the lips! All of the lipsticks I use are melted into palettes to make it easier to carry around. If you want to know how I did this, see here. I have a few lipsticks that need to be melted in, so they're currently chilling with lip glosses and lacquers. Again, a lot of my lip pencils and my paw paw lip balm have been, ahem, pinched for my own person use.

The last 3 drawers aren't the most interesting. I took a picture of this one, as it has a lot of my tools and a buttload of lashes. In the back we have mascara wands and the 10ml dropper bottles for foundations and to the side we have bottles for alcohol, water, hand sanitiser etc. Then, we have a tub of tools, including mixing palettes, a mini mirror, spatulas, lash curlers and Vaseline. The drawers underneath this just have set bags, gowns and boring things in them so I didn't bother taking photos!

So there we have it, my new and improved make up storage! Where do you store your make up? How big is your personal make up? I've moved mine into my old storage drawers, but I always end up borrowing from my kit!
