Halloween Tag

I recently saw Yaris Adventures post on the Halloween Tag (here) and couldn't resist joining in! I think I get more excited for Halloween than I do for my birthday or Christmas and normally have my outfit sorted months in advance!

1. How much do you rate Halloween from 1-10?

Definitey a 10, I love dressing up for Halloween ^-^

2. Zombies or Vampires?

Zombies, I freaking love The Walking Dead.

3. Favourite Halloween make up tutorial on YouTube?

I don't really have one, probably something super gory!

4. Trick or Treat?

Treat, especially if it's sweet ;)

5. Best Halloween memory?

Myself and my brother would trick or treat at our neighbours, who would have a little bag with peanuts, chocolate coins, 50p each and some other goodies.

6. Favourite thing about Halloween?

Planning my outfit and seeing all the cool outfits people come up with.

7. Drink or food on Halloween?

I am a bit of a party girl, but I've always wanted to have a Halloween party and make cute little food items!

8. Favourite Halloween scent(s)?

Umm, what are my options?!

9. What are you doing this year for Halloween?

Making a mask, enlisting my mum to sew fur onto a crop top and going to PARRRTTYY.

10. Do you believe in ghosts?

I honestly haven't decided on that one! Sometimes I can't see how some stories could be explained in any other way.

If you do this tag, please send me a link :D

I Don't Know About You, But I'm Feeling 22.

Frozen Cake
How amazing is the cake my mum made??
Last Thursday was a busy day for the Han, as I decided it was time to treat myself to getting my hair and nails done for my birthday. I've left my hair alone for a good year and a half and I've never properly had my nails done- except for practise is college- so I figured is was as good a time as any.

Gel Nails Aberdeen

I went to a salon called Unique, which is pretty much smack bang in the middle of Aberdeen. It's hasn't been open for long, but it always looks pretty busy so I decided to give it a go. I wanted to get them pretty plain as I knew I'd paint them anyway, but since I didn't really know what to ask for, I ended up getting talked into french tips. So far I'm really liking them, but I do fine it hard not to pick and bite at them, so hopefully I can resist and have beautiful nails for a few weeks!

Profile Hair Aberdeen
I'm loving the wall decor at Profile- so kitsch!
After my nails were finished, I met my mum and my brother for lunch at Siberia, because sometimes you can't beat good old pub grub! Then, it was off to Profile to finally update my hair. I've been thinking about getting my hair a brighter ginger ombre for about 5 months now but thought it was too short. So, since it's grown quite a bit and become a lot thicker, I took the plunge. After two hours of chilling and catching up with the hairdressers, I left with beautiful, brand new hair. At first I was a bit worried that it looked like grown out roots, but almost everyone I know noticed the difference straight away and complimented me on how nice it is. I haven't actually managed to get a decent picture of it yet so stay tuned for a photo on Instagram!

Once I got home, it was time to get ready and start the first night of birthday celebrations! Do you like to give yourself treats on your birthday? Or do you regularly keep yourself glammed up in the beauty department?

Halloween 2014: Glow In The Dark Skull

The next look in my make up based Halloween look is a Glow In The Dark Skull. I cheated a little on this one as I used face paints, but black and white don't break the budget. I got Snazaroo colours, which I think were £3.20! Everyone loves a skull face at Halloween, so to shake it up I decided to do a slashed effect, as well as use glow in the dark paint, perfect for any nights out.

I started off by applying my base as usual and applying eye make up on one eye. Then, I used a thin brush and the black facepaint to draw a rough outline of where I want the slashes to be. Before the paint dried, I used a small sponge tip brush to blend out the line a little. Next. I blacked my eye and my nose and my cheekbone with the black paint. I then added all the white face paint, including over one half of my lip. After this dried, I went back over the lip and added teeth with the black. All that's left to do after that is blend in a little more black in any areas you think there wouldn't be any bone and add a later of glow in the dark paint! I used the £1 cream from ASDA, but as soon as I put it on and took a few photos I could feel my face stinging >,< Off to Hobbycraft I go to try theirs!

If you want to make this look a little more rough around the edges, you can mix the black and white to make grey and add more shading. Really you can just go wild!

The rest of my day has been spent continuing to make my Halloween outfit, I really think paper mâché is my calling! Look out for an extra post this week, as it's my birthday tomorrow and I'm treating myself to a new hair do and getting my nails done ;)

Halloween 2014: Deer/Bambi

Banana Beauty Halloween Deer

Last week I started my 2014 Halloween series! For those of you who missed it (here), I've decided to focus on some make up based looks this year. Today we have a simple, if not a little time consuming deer/bambi look!

Banana Beauty Halloween Deer

To start off this look I applied my base as usual. I filled in my brows as normal as well, before adding a few flicks along the top for a more feral look. It doesn't show that much in the photos, but its there! Then, I used a light shimmery eyeshadow all over the lid, and a coppery brown smoked out in the crease. Next, I used a gel liner to add a thick line with a flick. I added flared lashes to give a doe eyed effect.

I used a dark powder to contour my cheekbones, forehead, chin and nose. I added a slightly lighter powder over my cheeks, almost connecting my nose and cheekbone contour. I used a brown brow pencil to add a few freckles across my cheeks, then used a white liner to add big white markings on my nose, cheeks and forehead. Then, all that was left to do was colour in my nose with gel liner and outline my mouth, then put on a nude lipstick! I twisted my hair into two little buns on top of my head to create "antlers" to complete the look. Voila!

Have you sorted out your outfit for Halloween? Is is simple, or more intricate?

The One App Everyone Needs To Download

You know sometimes, you download an app and just wish you could share it with the whole world? Well, right now, Bubbli is that app for me. As a typical blogger, I love to share everything I do in the world. Bubbli makes it so easy to share a 360° picture of places I've been to. My boyfriend introduced me to this app back in June when we were in Corfu (link), but I've only recently started using it. At the moment I've only been using it in places without a lot of other people because it feels a bit weird spinning around with my phone, but I really think it's an app that could kick off!

It's pretty simple to use. Just hit the big red record button, slowly move your phone up and down, left and right to capture the grey areas until you get 100%, and voila, you've now taken a bubbli of your surroundings! Try to move your body around so that the phone stays pretty much stationary to avoid blurring and jumpy lines. Once you've completed and built your Bubbli, you can share it with your friends, who can move their phone around and scroll the screen to see things as you did!

Check out this Bubbli here

Have you ever heard of Bubbli? Or maybe there's another app you love and wish everyone knew about? Leave me a comment below!
