I Suck At New Years Resolutions

New Year 2014
Some of my favourites memories of the year!
I seriously suck at New Years Resolutions. To the point that out of last years resolutions (here), I managed one. I haven't gotten any healthier - in fact, I've put on a stone! I didn't do Race for Life in under 55 minutes. I'm not even halfway to 500 followers and I'm in the Beginners Progression Pole class.

I have however, improved in the blog photo department! I'm still learning how to take the perfect shot and sometimes they look amazing on my camera, then awful when I upload them to my computer. But, I'm a lot happier with how my blog photos look!

I'm not going to dwell on the failure of this past years resolutions as I've accomplished so much, even after constant one step forward two steps back. I've completed a Make Up Artistry course and started a little bit of freelance. I've survived the worst month or so of my life when my old job went tits up as well as landing an amazing new job with one of the worlds top make up brands! I've travelled on a plane on my own and made it on my own for a week of training. I've really upped my blogging game, pushing to get my blog exactly where I want it.

For 2015 I'm going to keep the same goals. Before Christmas I started the Insanity workout and loved it, so I'm going to restart it from scratch and follow the workouts as closely as possible. That will help me to become stronger and hopefully better at pole, although I think I'm starting to get close to moving up as it is! I really hope my improvements in blogging will help me to gain 500 followers this year, but to be perfectly honest I'm grateful that anyone even reads my blog on a regular basis!

I wish you all the best for 2015 and I hope this year has been a good one for you all!

Lots and lots of love and kisses!!!!

December Degustabox

Last month, I decided to bite the bullet and subscribe to Degustabox. I certainly wasn't disappointed! I love trying new food and as a vegetarian it isn't always that easy. Degustabox works by giving you a monthly box with between 9 - 14 items of food and drink inside. It costs £12.99 per month, which isn't bad considering it has about £20-£25 worth of food and drink inside!

This month the box contains:
Eisberg Non Alcoholic Wine
Pukka Herbs Clean Green Herbal Tea
Bahlsen Choco Leibniz
Gloworm Premium Mixers
Bonne Maman Orange Marmalade
Fry Light Infuse Garlic
The Chia Co. Oats + Chia
Kents Kitchen Meal Kits
Popchips Thai Sweet Chilli
I've only tried the Popchips so far, but I'm sure I'll love most of these products! I'm most excited for the herbal tea and chia oats, as I love to pretend I'm healthy. Oh and the biscuits of course, because who doesn't love biscuits!

Do you subscribe to any monthly boxes? Or is there any boxes you have your eye on? Leave me a comment letting me know!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2014

Hello everyone! This year I haven't been overly excited for Christmas, to be perfectly honest I was just happy to have a day off where I don't have to stress about getting organised! But, not that I've slept until noon, I felt fully rested and ready to get in the Christmas spirit! I donned a Christmas jumper, Christmas leggings and gingerbread men socks and ventured downstairs to open the rest of my presents. I say rest because last night I opened my presents from my parents!
Christmas Presents

I already knew I was getting a Zoeva Brush, Lime Crime Liner and one of the Velvetines, so I was pleasantly surprised to get three Velvetines, the liner, the brush and an extra brush and the Stila Nude Pencil from my Make Up Wishlist! (here) I also got sweets, pyjamas, money and a book of step by step nail art (which I will try, but already know will fail at recreating!)

Our Christmas is pretty small, with myself, mum, dad, my brother and every second year, my grandma. Everyone has turkey and I have a Mushroom Pastry, with lots of roast potatoes, mash, peas, pigs in blankets and stuffing. We have a TV break (currently Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) before having some sort of pudding and a nap.

I love Christmas as it's one of the few times of the year we're all home at the same time for more than a couple of hours!  I don't tend to post about it, or take many photos as I just like to spend that time with the family.

I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas and been well fed and watered. I might not be posting as much before New Year, but I do have a few planned for 2015!

Colourful Eyeliner

Colourful Eyeliner
I seriously cannot fathom how people take good eye photos- it's so damn hard!

I've recently been loving creative eyeliner looks and have been wearing them most days for work. I always try to get a wee photo on my phone, but they never turn out well and I don't always have time in the morning to whap out my big camera. But, today I had plenty of time to get ready, so I decided to have a good play about with my make up. I have an album on my phone of over 40 insperation make up photos, as well as my Pinterest page, so I always have plenty of looks to try!
Colourful Eyeliner

I started off with the black liner on the top and tried to put a coral lip liner aboce that, only to realise it would of been easier to do a big thick line of coral lipliner and then add the black on top. But hey ho, it's a learning curve! I find extending the inner corner liner so hard, as I'm extremely short sighted and need to be right up in the mirror, which usually means bashing my brush off the mirror >.<

Then, I added white liner in my waterline and extended it in both corners, before smudging a mixture of the lip liner and black kohl liner underneath (which didn't photo all that brightly!) Overall I'm impressed with how it turned out, as I struggle so much doing my own make up neatly!

Which creative make up looks do you love? Also, leave your Pinterest links below, I haven't followed any one it yet!

What's In My Evening Bag

What's In My Bag
Us girls seem to love a little nosey into the lives of each other and the What's In My Bag posts are always my favourite! I just love knowing what others take out and about with them. This party season I've been out a bit more than usual and the items I take with my are always pretty much the same, so I decided it was about time I showed you all what to expect if I were to ever drop the contents of my bag on a night out!

What's In My Bag

The first item that gets packed in my bag and the sole reason I bought a large clutch bag is a pack it jacket. I'm not even sorry for how ridiculous this makes me look, but you better believe my walks home are a lot drier and a tiny bit warmer than they would otherwise be! If I'm out in town I go to clubs quite late, meaning there is no room in the cloakroom and I would have to carry my jacket with me all night, which isn't ideal in a crammed club.

Obviously cards like my ID, bank card and club cards come with me every night out too! I have a huge baby face so I'm forever getting ID'd. Sometimes the bouncers are polite and ID my friends as well, even though all of them are obviously over 21. Keys and money are another obvious item in my bag, as no one wants to be the asshole paying with card at a rammed bar, or the person ringing the buzzer in the middle of the morning. As I wear contacts, I take the case as 9 times out of 10 clubs use smoke machines, which end up drying my eyes up and my contacts need taken out :(

On the make up front, I do take quite a lot in my bag. I take whatever lip products I'll need for top ups as well as powder and a little brush, to top up that t-zone! I'm still in my false eyelash phase, so their little case and glue is need in case of emergency.

It seems like a lot, but I've never been the kind of girl who can go out without a bag of some sort so I can live with it! What do you take with you on nights out? Let me know in the comments!

Christmas Party Dresses

Christmas Party Dresses
Click the photo to see where all these beautiful dresses are from!

With the party season already taking way, I couldn't help but lust after all the pretty dresses! Obviously I've already had my big party (here), but I don't see why I can't have a wishlist for potential parties. The best thing is, these dresses are all £100 or under. For some of the styles, thats a pretty good price!

The main dress I'm blown away by is the red sequin Jessica Rabbit style dress. It's possibly the most beautiful dress I've ever seen and if I hadn't already had Scott's work dinner, I would have been buying it without a second though

Sticking to the sequin theme, my next favourite dress is the green sequin dress . I've seen a lot of this style of dress in the past month or so and it would be perfect for a more casual affair.

The cream one shoulder dress took a little warming to, as I wasn't a fan of the shape of the bust on the non shoulder side. But a girl at my work just so happened to wear the same dress to a ball a week after I was it and it looked amazing on her. Although she might as well be a model so it figures!

Back to the sequins, sorry not sorry! I'm a cliche black clothing girl, so I couldn't resist picking out this glam black sequin dress. I would probably never buy it as the straps are so thin, which I'm not a fan of, but it definitely makes the cut for my wishlist!

Christmas wouldn't be right without the LBD and I loved all three of the skater dresses. The gold detailed skater dress has such a lovely shoulder and cross over back, spicing up the ordinary style of the dress. The silver embellished dress is similar, with a mesh shoulder design that compliments the shape and makes it seem very delicate and feminine. The last skater dress has a tapered hem, giving it a bit more of a punky feel. But, the top is again delicate, making a great balance.

The last dress in my wishlist may have a little bit of of sequins sneaking in, which may have influenced my to include it. It has a ruched design under the bust for a figure hugging shape. To me, it's the perfect winter princess dress, so if I had an ultra special occasion I'd be picking this.

Do you have any dresses you're dreaming of this party season? Have you maybe bought one of them? Let me know below!

Latest In Beauty: The Ultimate Pamper Box

It's been a little while since I last got a Latest In Beauty box, so I decided last month (yup, LAST MONTH) to make another purchase. I decided to go for one of the Christmas Gift boxes and after much deliberation, I chose The Ultimate Pamper Box. It took me almost a month to receive, as it never came and after emailing and waiting a week, I finally got told it had been lost in the mail and that they would send another. This is the second time I've had something from LIB lost, so it kind of puts me off buying in the future.

The box contains:

Balance Me Moisture Rich Cream 25ml
"A deeply hydrating daily moisturiser that plumps, firms, lifts and smoothes for rejuvenated-looking skin."

Essential Care Cream Coconut Cleanser 30ml
"An award-winning blend of dynamic plant oils gently cleanse and effectively lift away make-up and skin impurities."

Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy 25g
"This hand treatment contains a moisturising and conditioning shea butter, macadamia nut oil and antioxidant-rich vitamins."

John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo (30ml)

John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler (30ml)

Percy & Reed Abundantly Bouncy Volumising Hair Mousse (50ml)
"This little beauty of a bottle will give your hair extreme, lasting volume, without the sticky stiff feel. Your hair will stay light and natural thanks to its creamy moisturising texture."

Maddi Alexander Mistletoe Kisses Natural Room Spray 50ml
"Fragrance your surroundings with a luxurious indulgent Christmas scent. Mistletoe Kisses is a wonderfully warm blend orange, mandarin, bergamot infused with neroli, frankincense & myrrh. A perfect fragrance for the festive season."

RITUALS Miracle Scrub Ginseng & Ginkgo Biloba Ultra Softening Hand Scrub (75ml)
"Restore your skin’s elasticity and moisture balance with a hand scrub based on rejuvenating Ginseng and strengthening Ginkgo Biloba."#

RITUALS Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel Sensation (50ml)
"An ultra caring foam with a delicate relaxing fragrance to cleanse the entire body in a silk-soft way."

Amphora Aromatics Orange & Clove Candle
"Made from pure essential oils and 100% plant wax, Orange & Clove imparts an uplifting and stimulating spirit."

Sanctuary Spa Active Resurface & Refine Ultra Polish (15ml)
"This hard-working polish has a luxurious creamy texture which glides on to skin without the grainy feeling of a typical body polish but washes off to reveal incredibly soft skin."

Lindt Milk Chocolate Novelty Hollow Figure 10g
"Wrapped in its distinctive golden foil, the adorable Lindt milk chocolate makes a perfect Christmas chocolate gift for someone special to show you care this festive season."

The only two things in the box I wasn't keen on is candle and room fragrance, as I'm not a fan of the smell! I actually gave the candle to my mum, so it's not in the picture, sorry! My favourite item so far has been the John Masters Shampoo, it's made my hair so shiny that quite a few people have commented on it! I also really like the coconut cleanser, it's cleaning power is so good that it can take off my full face of make up without the need for any wipes or eye make up remover.

What beauty boxes have you ordered this Christmas? If you're struggling for a gift for a beauty addict, I'd recommend this!

November Favourites

November Favourites

I can't believe this is the last "Favourites" post I will post before the New Year! For once, I don't feel like the years flown by! This months favourites are home comforts that I use regularly to make my days a little brighter and easier.

November Favourites
Dry Shampoo//Make Up Wipes//Yankee Candle//Face Mask

Dry shampoo is an absolute must for my hair. Because it's curly, I try to wash it only twice a week, so I need something to keep oily roots at bay in between shampoos. I love the dark and a deep brown as it doesn't look grey on my hair like normal dry shampoo, although it does leave brown marks on my neck and face if I spray it too close!

Another favourite I use almost daily is make up wipes. I love the 60p wipes from Savers as they work the best without stinging my eyes, but it's a little out of my way to go to. I also like Simple and Boots Cucumber wipes for quick and easy make up removal before I cleanse.

I wouldn't be a real blogger if I didn't like Yankee Candles (I jest) and with Christmas just around the corner I couldn't resist getting the Snowflake Cookie scent. I have one wax melt in Christmas Cookie and a box of Snowflake Cookie tea lights to give the kitchen and bedroom a festive smell.

The last item in my favourites is my most recent discovery. I used the Montagne Jeunesse masks in my recent pamper post (here) and the chocolate and orange worked perfectly to clean out all of my pores. As it heats up I like to massage it in for a few minutes to keep it heated up and the smell is divine.

I'm sorry none of my favourites are cosy winter items, but it really hasn't been that cold in Aberdeen up until the past 2 days! What are your favourites this month?

The Christmas Tag

On Sunday I saw Adele from PalettePale post this tag and I couldn't resist- I love a tag! I have to say some of this was quite hard to answer, I guess I'm not that much of a festive person. I've asked my mum to help me out with a few and ended up talking about a good few memories :)

1. What is your favourite Christmas movie?

Gremlins! It's not explicitly a Christmas movie, but it comes on the TV at that time so I'm including it! Who doesn't love Gizmo? Especially in Gremlins 2 when he makes a little boy and arrow. You go, Gizmo!

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

My brother and I used to get to open one present on Christmas Eve and open the rest in the morning. As I've gotten older I've bullied my parents into letting me open more, since I stay up until after 12 any way ;)

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

When I was little, I used to always sook up to my grandad because I knew he'd feed me! After Christmas Lunch, I'd go and sit on his lap and he'd continue to feed me.

4. Favourite festive food?

Roast Tatties! There's just something about Christmas that makes them taste 100x better. Or the Costa Orange/Brownie Hot Chocolates. I've literally had on every day before or after work since they came out.

5. Favourite Christmas Gift?

I've been pretty lucky with gifts- I've always been spoilt rotten and gotten really thoughtful gifts. I've always kind of known what I've wanted and just asked for it.

6. Favourite Christmas Scent?

I'm not a fan of spicy Christmas smells, so probably Peppermint or Cookies, like the Yankee Candles that smell of Cookies!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Not really, just annoy my parents into letting me open a gift!

8. What tops your tree?

Up until 2(ish) years ago it was this little toilet roll tube fairy that either myself or my brother made in school that my mum always always always put on the top of the tree. I don't know why she persisted for so long, as it's honestly one of those hideous things your kid brings home (soz mum) and you have to pretend to like! But, it's incredibly sweet of my mum to to and I suspect I'll end up doing something similar when I've got kids. Right now nothing tops our tree, as the star we bought is too heavy and tips it over!

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

I used to constantly ask my parents for a puppy for years, so probably that. For a time is was more specific and I wanted a Dalmatian.

10. What's the best part of Christmas for you?

The magic of Christmas Day. I love the effort that my parents put into making lunch and we set up a bigger table in the living room to have lunch on, Every second year my Grandma comes to us too. There's just something about that table all set up, with all the food, the drink (shloer mmmm!) napkins and cracker that makes me smile. Even just the thought of it!
If you decide to do the tag too, leave a link below!

OOTD: Christmas Dance

I blame it on not having a prom in school, but whenever Christmas comes around I'm most excited for Scott's work dinner and dance! I spend a good month stressing about what to wear, what to have my hair and make up like (see my make up here) and if I need to get shoes to match my dress (which probably completely baffles Scott as his biggest worry is if he still has kilt socks.) I eat all three courses at the meal, then feel so sick and bloated that I question my own sanity.  We cross our fingers to win something in the raffle - which Scott did this year!- We sit and agree how perfect we are for each other as we both hate dancing, whilst we watch the flurry that is the Dashing White Sargeant. I don't know exactly what it is, but something just makes me immediately excited when we put our names down for a space each year!

This year my mum was kind enough to buy me a dress from River Island, which I fell completely in love with. I now can't see it online, but know it was an online exclusive so maybe it's gone forever! I was quite worried that I wouldn't be able to wear it as it's backless and I'm conscious of my chest being on the larger side. But, the dress was quite tight so everything looked fine once it was on! I love how the hem of the dress is chiffon and in a tulip shape- it made me feel like a bit of a princess! The halter neck is embellished with black, gold and silver jewels, which was lovely but slightly annoying as my hair kept getting tangled in it.

I decided to stick with the black and gold theme as I already had heels to match. I can't remember where I got them from, but they've been worn on many occasions and are pretty comfortable. My bag was a birthday present to myself from New Look. It's the perfect size, big enough to store fold up shoes, an umbrella or pack it jacket (not even joking, I take a pack it jacket with me on nights out.) as well as all the essentials like lipstick, powder and of course money/bank cards.

Do you have any Christmas parties this year? Are they big dinner and dances, or are you having a meal and hitting the town?
