Estee Lauder || Modern Muse Le Rouge

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge

Last month I took a trip down to Livingston Designer Outlet (link) and one of the items I picked up was the Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Eau De Parfum. To start with, I wasn't 100% sure if I would wear it a lot, as the fragrance is pretty strong. It seems to especially stick to my hair, which I'm now taking as a good thing!

The fragrance is a "fruity floral oriental" with top notes of raspberry, pink better and saffron, deepening to muskier, wooden base notes with vetvier, vanilla and amberette. I find the fragrance to be a mixture of spicy and sweet, but to be honest I don't think the smell changes on me that much throughout the day! I've constantly gotten compliments when I'm wearing it and I've even had a client write down the name of it after asking what I had on.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge

In all honesty I'm not a massive fan of the bottle, for the first few days I kept thinking there was a top on the bottle and tried to pull it off ever time I used it. I also think the bow design on the Modern Muse perfumes are quite tacky, although I'm impressed that it hasn't broken off in my bag! I think I'm a bit of a plain Jane, as all the perfumes I really like are simple in design and either square or bottle shaped (like my beloved The Body Shop fragrances!)

Have you tried any of the Modern Muse perfumes? What did you think? Let me know below and recommend me some similar perfumes to try!

Wishin' || Beauty Bay

Beauty Bay Wishlist

As I mentioned at the start of the year, I want to expand my collection of make up and try out new brands. But, I'm always weary of new products as I don't want to waste my money on products I'll never use! A few of the girls at work bought Morphe Palettes from Beauty Bay over the Christmas period as well as a few Makeup Geek eyeshadows. They all gave the website rave reviews so I decided to have a look and see what all the fuss was about!

The main product that started the wishlist rampage is the new Brow Definer from Anastasia Beverly Hills. As soon as I saw it on Instagram I knew it would be right up my alley and the demo videos I've been seeing confirm that. I haven't quite decided which colour to go for, as I like my brows quite dark. Caramel seems like obvious colour for a redhead, so hopefully it won't be too light!

I spotted the Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush on Instagram and again, I knew straight off the bat that it would be the one for me. My current brow brush is getting a little worn out, but I'm pretty fussy with that I like and I really hope this brush meets the cut! As it's less than £6 it isn't too much of a risk compared to some of the more expensive brands.

The only item I'm not 100% sure I'll buy is the Beauty Blender Micro Mini Duo. Obviously I don't really need them, but they're so damn cute and perfectly sized for the under eye so I can't help but lust after them. I probably won't buy it on my first go of Beauty Bay, but I'm certain at some point they'll sneak their way into my make up collection.

I've been looking at different brands of glitters for a while now, but a lot of brands seem a lot more pigment and less glitter. After looking a Pinterest at the swatches of Utopia, it looks very close to the glitters I've been looking for!

Also from Makeup Geek, I want to try out the eyeshadows. I spend a looong time searching the colours, looking up swatches and comparing them to the eyeshadows I already have in my kit. One night out I got ready with the work girls and ended up trying out all their colour on my arm, which ended up with most of them being added to my wishlist!

Have you bought any of these items? Is there anything else you'd recommend from Beauty Bay? Let me know below!

Tk Maxx Find || SPAscriptions Hydrating Spa Treatment Mask

Sheet Face Mask SPAscriptions

 The Aberdeen Kittybewster retail park is close to my new flat and is somewhere I've never really been. It has some great discount shops, such as Poundworld, B&M's and TK Maxx. There's a massive TK Maxx at Union Square, but I find it really cluttered and too big to really find anything decent in. I went to the Kittybrewster store the other week week in search of a tray for my perfume and was pleasantly surprised to see that the store was laid out a lot clearer for my liking. I had a good little wonder without getting bored and saw heaps of little nic naks I would possibly go back for in the near future!

Of course, I ended up picking up one or two little extras on my way to the till, one of them being the SPAscriptions Hydrating Spa Treatment Mask. After trying to do some research, I really couldn't find much information or even any reviews on the brand! But, when I saw that it had hyaluronic acid, I was seriously tempted to give it a try. I always buy LUSH face masks, that are about £6.50 and last me just over a month, so spending £4.99 on this didn't seem like such a risk.

Best Sheet Face Mask

The dried out mask in the photo above looks a lot jollier than when it's on the face! Each mask is folded up in a little sachet filled with serum and when you put it on you sort of look like a half melted wax figure. The instructions say to smooth out the mask over the face and leave on for 20 minutes, before removing and massaging in the excess serum. The serum does leave a little bit of a film feeling on the skin, but when I leave it overnight and wash my face in the morning it feels super soft!

In general I have noticed quite a difference in my skin: it feels a lot softer and needs exfoliated less, as well as my make up sitting a lot better and lasting longer on my face. I'm currently battling between repurchasing these masks and going back to Lush Oatifix and I really can't decide!

Have you ever heard of SPAscriptions? I'm surprised at the lack of information online so if anyone has please comment below!

Boutique Of Molly || Evie Lace Up Eyelet Crop Top

Boutique Of Molly

I hadn't been on Boutique Of Molly for a while, so when I had a look a couple of weeks ago there were plenty of new options to choose from! There's now even a Luxury Collection and you better believe if I ever have an occasion that calls for a ball gown I'll be buying the gold sparkly number! I instantly fell in love with the Evie Lace Up Eyelet Crop Top, as it looks effortlessly classy.

I had a work meal for my partner in crime Rebecca's leaving do (which I'm devastated about, may I add!) and I wanted to look dressed up without going all out. As we were going straight from work, I chose black jeans and changed into the Evie Crop Top after work. The top has quite a squared shape, which I love as it means its a little looser over the stomach, perfect to keep you looking slim after a 3 course meal! The cross over design is simple but makes the top so much more interesting, I wouldn't ever pick out a white top for myself! The top is quite thick and made of a firm material, so it sits a lot better on the body and you can tell just by looking at it how good the quality is!

I've also dressed to top down with a a pair of blue acid wash jeans and a thick burgundy cardi for during the day, pairing it with my beige TOMS for an ultra casual look.

Have you bought anything from Boutique of Molly? What items do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below!

Livingston Designer Outlet || Haul

Best High End Products

It's not that often that I do anything overly exciting outside of Aberdeen on my days off, so when one of the girls at work suggested a trip to Livingston Designer Outlet I jumped at the chance. It quickly went from being just the two of us to another three girls who had the day off as well. None of us had ever been before, so we were apprehensive about how good it would be. We left at 10am and with a quick detour to pick up one of the girls, we arrived at about half 12.

Modern Muse Le Rouge ReviewOrigins Skincare Review

Our first order of business being beauty enthusiasts was obviously The Cosmetic Company Store. It had a mixture of high end brands from the Estee Lauder umbrella, although I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a section for Tom Ford! We spent a good part of an hour browsing and trying to decide what to go for, but eventually I settled on a hair mask from Bumble and Bumble, two miniature gift sets from Origins and a bottle of Modern Muse Le Rouge. Everyone seemed to be going for the Chic version, but it was just far too girly for me!

The other main item I was looking at whilst I was down was a jacket for Iceland, which I got from The North Face for over £100 off as it was last season! It was a beautiful white belted jacket that I can easily wear over here on rainy days and it's lightweight enough that it folds away pretty easily. I also bought a waterproof fleece to layer underneath. (I didn't take photo's of these as I thought it was pretty boring!)

The Body Shop

My last stop for the day was The Body Shop. I haven't really been into a store since I stopped working there as I mainly get it all online so it was nice to go in and have a browse! My ankles get really dry skin sometimes so I wanted to get the Hemp Body Butter, but since they had 40% off 4 items or more, I decided just to get the tin as it has all the range in it. I also wanted to pick up more of the Smoky Rose perfume as I used to love it, but ran out and kinda forgot about it. I had a look at the shampoos and saw the Coconut Hair Oil, which I've never even heard of before so obviously had to try out! Apart from that, I just stocked up on cotton pads and bath lily's, as you can never have too many!

Overall the Outlet was amazing and I feel like we didn't actually get a good run of it, I'm sure there were plenty of shops we missed out! Have you ever been to an Outlet centre before? What sort of shops did it have?

The £7 Make Up Brushes || One Year On

Best Budget Brush Set

Around this time last year I wrote a post about a set of make up brushes for £7 that the blogging world was going crazy about. They're now only £4, so I decided to do a little update about which brushes I still use!

The brush set comes with 10 brushes, 5 large and 5 small to be used around that face. I've kind of abandoned the large brushes as I never use them, mainly because I have other brushes that I prefer to use and that dry much quicker. The Flat Foundation brush came apart in the first month, which I could of use spirit gum to fix, but I ended up just throwing it away as I coped fine without it.

Best Budget Brush Set

I still use all of the smaller brushes, even the Round Eye Brush, which I originally reviewed as being too big. Now I find it perfect for a buffed out shadow in the crease! I use the slanted brushes mainly for blending out dark eyeshadows, the pointed brush for the inner corner  or cut creases and the flat brush for conclealer under the eye.

For £7 - or £4 at the moment - I really can't complain at the fact I don't use the large brushes! I think these are amazing for someone who's just starting out with make up and doesn't want to splash out on brushes they aren't sure they'll use. They give you a good idea of the options for duo fibre brushes, making a perfect starter kit!

Do you have any cheap make up brushes you recommend? Leave me a comment below!

MOTD || Copper Smokes

Copper Smoky Eye

Bello! Copper smoky eyes are a something that I've been wearing on a lot recently, with a mixture of different tones and colours.Sometimes I mix in a red shadow, sometimes a pink, or sometimes I straight up just shove some copper pigment all over my eyelids.

Copper Smoky Eye

This time round, I used a fuchsia pink eyeshadow and patted it all over my lid, then layered a shimmery copper/orange on top. Next I blended out a matte orange in the crease and buffed away with a soft blending brush until the pink and orange blended smoothly. I usually add a flicked liner when I have a smoky eye, but this version is a lot softer than I would normally go for - I usually have it blown out more towards the end of my brows - so I decided a little bit of Kohl in the waterline was enough! I finished off with some soft fluttery false lashes and used a warm bronzer under my cheekbones in place of my usual off grey contour.

What kind of make up have you been wearing recently? I never really know what else to say in MOTD posts so ask any questions in the comments below!
